Al Gore Sounds Off... Bullshit!

At his Aspen Institute on Global Warming, Al Gore let loose with some expletives as he spoke regarding those who dismiss the evidence of global warming. It seems he's had enough of their bullshit. They are pretty frustrating.

We need a shared reality.

America is Next in Line

The waves of public outcry which have been making their way around the globe are beginning to lap at the shores of the US. The unhealthy state of our political system and economy will necessitate the intervention of the voice of the people. For too long the average American has been myopic and distracted, taking no interest or responsibility as citizens. Most just assume that someone else is minding the shop.

It appears that now even the most uninformed and aloof must at least have some idea of the sorry state of affairs. More people are speaking out, and the voices are getting louder. Communities of people of like mind are beginning to organize for common purpose. The fabric of the social network is coming together now, and is headed in the direction of action for change.

Watch and see or better yet get informed and get involved. Citizenship includes both rights and responsibilities. At the very least, register and vote!

Riots in London - Day 3

The uprising of the working class was evident today in the third day of civil unrest in London. Fires, looting, no-go zones left many sections of the city scheduled to host the Olympics next year in tatters.

Earlier this past week, Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities in turmoil as people protested en masse for lower rents and cost of living.

The Arab Spring has spread across northern Africa, the Middle East, and stretches into the heart of Africa-- places like Sudan, Mogadishu, Kenya. famine in Somalia leaves millions in wretched conditions, while Al Quaeda militants block aid workers and supplies because of their religion.

Syria continues to receive severe military crackdown on citizens day after day, as thousands protest the corrupt leadership. Several countries in the region withdrew their ambassadors today. The people want justice.

Libyan dictator Kaddafy relentlessly oppresses his people to this day, in spite of international condemnation and active military participation in support of the rights of the people.

Manic Monday

As of 3:00 pm the markets have dropped by more than 500 points. S&P downgraded Fannie and Freddie, as well as other institutions heavily linked with US securities. President Obama addressed the nation at 1:30 pm to encourage the nation and world that these problems are eminently solvable. Call for action to work together to get the job done.

The Barefoot Boy

Thou hast more than he can buy,
In the reach of ear and eye,
Outward sunshine, inward joy,
Blessings on thee, barefoot boy!

John Greenleaf Whittier

Mark Twain: Thought for the Day

To succeeed in life you need two things, ignorance and confidence.

Why Do the Nations Rage?

And why do people imagine a vain thing? He that dwells in heaven shall laugh them to scorn, the Lord shall hold them in derision.

Yet He saved them for his name sake, to make his mighty power known.

Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him and He will act.

and God is able to make all grace abound in you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Lift up your eyes to the hills...

Random stuff from various books of the Bible for inspiration today.
