The big polluters spend enormous amounts of money lobbying Congress and advertising their sales pitch to the American people. Their "feel good" messaging belies a more sinister agenda. There is no such thing as clean fossil fuels, and most of these companies attempt to sell you false messages.
They receive large tax breaks, subsidies, special business privileges while making record breaking profits. They participate in groups like ALEC, writing laws against the public interest while serving their own profits. They avoid paying their fair share of taxes, which leaves the rest of us to pick up their slack.
