What Have You Done To Our Fair Sister?

Jim Morrison of the Doors sums it up best in song. "What have you done to our fair sister, dragged her down, and cut her with knives, and stripped her, and beat her..."

The earth is our fair sister, mother of us all, our one and only home. Have you considered the state that we are leaving her in these days? Maybe we need some Aretha Franklin to pipe in with her song, "R-E-S-P-E-C-T," because we may need to be reminded occasionally that careless abuse of our precious relationships and resources is damaging to everyone.

There are still some these days who continue to deny the reality of global warming, otherwise known as climate change. They question the wacko scientists who keep chirping about this so-called, unproven "theory." Not only that, they rail against "job-killing" regulations which protect the earth and her resources. I wonder which planet they live on.

If we insist on denying the word of scientists, we might at least look at the evidence of climate change as presented this past year. Record droughts, fires, flooding and tornadoes, just to name a few. If you don't believe me or the scientists, check out the newspaper or TV. Or maybe just look out the window, because chances are, depending on your location, your immediate environment has been affected in some way by global warming. Cleanse the windows of your perception.

What have you done to our fair sister?
